Manuka Honey Bees make Propolis by gathering resin or sap from plants and combining it with enzymes. They use it in two ways, firstly to reinforce the hive itself, and secondly to protect the hive from bacterial and viral infection. For this reason Propolis is known as ‘nature’s best defence’. Propolis contains protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids (which act as antioxidants). It has also been found that Propolis harbours both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, therefore making it perfect for use in medicinal products targeting sore throats and colds. Each lozenge is individually wrapped making them extremely hygienic.
